Job Ashby, son of Joseph and Sarah (Conarroe) Ashby, was born in Ohio before his family moved west.
Marriage
In 1847, he married Eliza Cave in Clinton County, Indiana. Within a few years of marriage, Job and Eliza Ashby moved to near Richland, Wisconsin. After a few years, they moved to near Fayette County, Iowa where spent his remaining years except a brief stint in Indiana.
The Children
They were the parents to eight children born in three different states.
- Mary Matilda [m. Eli Burget] was born in Indiana.
- William Wesley [m. Andie Owen] was born in Richland County, Wisconsin.
- Sarah Lucinda [m. John W. Turner] was born in Richland County, Wisconsin.
- Miranda Jane was born in Richland County, Wisconsin.
- Susie [m. Oliver Ashby] was born in Iowa
- Henrietta “Ettie” [m. Hiram Matthews] was born in Iowa.
- Joseph F. was born in Iowa.
- Grant was born in Iowa,
A Second Marriage
After his wife Eliza died, Job married Mary Nelson. However, Job died only a few months later.
