Description: In September 1864, he was assigned to a group that was to assist Ft. Henderson, which was under attack.  The fort surprisingly surrendered and General Forrest then attacked the group the Croco was in.  Many of the men surrendered. However, Croco escaped despite having a wounded knee.

Henderson, which was under attack.  The fort surprisingly surrendered and General Forrest then attacked the group the Ezra was in.  Ezra was sent to Cahaba Prison.  Then, on April 27, 1865, he survived the explosion of the steamship Sultana near Memphis, Tennennesse.
