Littler

Rachel

1809 – 1851

 

 

 

John B. Foresman, son of George and Lettice (Anderson) Foresman, was born in Pennsylvania.  He is believed to have married a woman named Elizabeth and had a son George. Then he married Rachel Littler or Ritter (Name given in a book).  They were the parents to twelve children: Mary Ann, sarah, John B., Rebecca Bryan, Robert Littler, Rachel, Charles L., Letice, Martha, Matilda, Elizabeth, and a son.  At some point, John and family moved to Tippecanoe County, Indiana where they lived for many years.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Rachel Littler was born in 1809, possibly the daugther of Elisha Littler and Mary Ann Babb.  However, further research is needed to verify her parents’ names.

 

It is important to note that there is a book that states Rachel’s name was Rittler.  However, all records found indicate her name was Littler, including having a son with Littler as a middle name.

 

Marriage

In 1829, Rachel married John B. Foresman in Pickaway, Ohio. They were the parents to twelve children: Mary Ann, sarah, John B., Rebecca Bryan, Robert Littler, Rachel, Charles L., Letice, Martha, Matilda, Elizabeth, and a son. 

 

At some point, the family moved to Tippecanoe County, Indiana where they lived for many years.  Rachel died there in 1851.
