first to be baptized in the basement of the First Presbyterian Church in Papillion, Nebraska.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">James farmed his mother&#8217;s property on weekends while working at Western Electric as an electroplater.&nbsp; He apparently wanted to buy a farm and return to farming as his career.&nbsp; His wife was not fond of this idea.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">As a farmer, James knew how to use guns.&nbsp; He shot deer in an effort to protect the crops.
