Check land records in Mason County in the year or so leading up to their departure to see if they sold land.&nbsp; If so, perhaps there are hints from who they lived near, who they sold to, who they bought from, or any names associated with securing a note on the land.<\/p>\n<p id=\"u28654-6\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p id=\"u28654-8\">Search for additional land records for Marshall families, particularly for Thomas Marshall in the years near the time of Jane\u2019s marriage (1813).<\/p>\n<p id=\"u28654-9\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p id=\"u28654-11\">Search for Thomas Marshall in surrounding counties as we do not know that Jane actually lived in Mason County.<\/p>\n<p id=\"u28654-12\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p id=\"u28654-14\">Research the brothers of Col. Thomas Marshall.&nbsp; Perhaps she was a cousin to Chief Justice John Marshall.<\/p>\n<p id=\"u28654-15\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p id=\"u28654-17\" class=\"\">Research William and Jane Marshall Donaldson\u2019s deaths.&nbsp; It is unclear when and where they died.&nbsp;&nbsp; It is possible that there are church or official records that could give some indication of birthplace, parents, etc.<\/p>\n<p id=\"u28654-18\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p id=\"u28654-20\">Research the Baptist Church in Missouri and Mason County, KY.&nbsp; Although Elizabeth Brown Donaldson was buried with her husband in a Presbyterian Cemetery, she apparently was a Baptist much of her life.<\/p>\n<p id=\"u28654-21\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p id=\"u28654-23\">Following Elizabeth Brown Donaldson and her husband\u2019s trek westward backward might lead to some clues.&nbsp;
