First Generation

1. Roger “Toddy” Ellis. Born on 29 Jul 1782 in Pennsylvania. Roger “Toddy” died in Brown Township, Ripley Co, IN, on 3 Dec 1859; he was 77. Buried in Benham Cemetary, Ripley, Co IN.

On 8 Feb 1804 when Roger “Toddy” was 21, he married Susannah Lewis, daughter of Joseph Lewis & Rebecca Esther Beck, in Shelby County, Kentucky. Born on 20 Jun 1784 in Henry Co., Virginia. Susannah died in Brown Township, Ripley County, Indiana, on 5 Nov 1865; she was 81. Buried in Benham Cemetery, Ripley County, Indiana. Buried in Benham Methodist (Old MiddleFork), Ripley Co, IN.

They had the following children:

	iv.	John. Born abt 1809 in Shelbyville, Shelby Co, KY. John died aft 1840; he was 31. On 9 Dec 1828 when John was 19, he married Cynthia Faught in Ripley Co, IN.
	v.	William. Born abt 1811 in Shelbyville, Shelby Co, KY. William died abt 1903; he was 92. On 6 Mar 1826 when William was 15, he married Betsy Province in Ripley Co, IN.

	viii.	Rebecca. Born on 26 Mar 1818 in Shelbyville, Shelby Co, KY. Rebecca died in Brown Twp., Ripley Co., IN, on 13 Sep 1905; she was 87. Buried in Old Benham Cemetery. On 20 May 1875 when Rebecca was 57, she married Ruel O'Neel, son of Henry O'Neal & Catherine Benham. Born on 26 Nov 1816 in Frankfort, Franklin Co, Kentucky. Ruel died in Oelwein, Faryette Co., Iowa, on 20 Nov 1902; he was 85. Buried in Oran Township Cemetery, Oran, Fayette, Iowa.

	x.	Susannah H.. Born in Feb 1825 in Indiana. Born in Feb 1825. On 11 Oct 1877 when Susannah H. was 52, she married George Mauch.
