Sarah Ann “Sally” Bassett, daughter of William and Margaret (McQuiddy) Bassett, was born in 1796 in Franklin County, Kentucky. She married George William Nicholson in 1813 in the same county. She raised eleven children to adulthood. She outlived George, dying in 1874 in Ripley County, Indiana.
