The below picture is of Minnie (Kutzner) Helm with her brother Herman A. Kutzner.
Minnie Louisa Carolina Kutzner, was among the first generation born in the United States to Herman H. and Wilhelmina “Minnie” (Schmidt) Kutzner. It must have been confusing times in the Kutzner household, with Minnie’s mother going by Minnie and having a half-sister who went by “Minnie.”
Marriage
Minnie married first generation American Philipp (Jacob) Helm in Iowa on June 9, 1927 who was 19 years her senior. Minnie was Jacob’s second wife. The children from Jacob’s first marriage were adults at the time Minnie and Jacob married, with Minnie being just 11 years older than her youngest step child. Jacob and Minnie had three daughters, with Minnie being in her early 40s when her last child was born:
