The following shows the earliest confirmed date that each family was in America.  If the immigrant to America is known, they are listed.  If multiple direct ancestors in a family immigrated together, the person with the earliest birth date is listed. For example, if a father and son are both direct ancestors and immigrated at the same time, the father will be listed as the immigrant as he was likely the primary immigrant.

IMMIGRANT: John Tilton Sr.

John was born in England.  He had a son John Jr. in 1640 in Massachusetts.

IMMIGRANT: Unknown

Captain John Wright Jr. was born in Virginia in 1659.  His parents are unknown.

IMMIGRANT: John Cadwalader

John’s daughter Gwen was born in America in 1670 although conflicting specific locations for her birth have been found.

Horseman

IMMIGRANT: Marmaduke horseman

Marmaduke Horseman Sr., born in England, had a son Marmaduke in New Jersey in 1675.

Harrison

IMMIGRANT: Richard Harrison

Richard arrived in Delaware in the fall of 1677 on the boat “Martha” from Burlington, Yorkshire, England.

IMMIGRANT: John Bunting

IMMIGRANT: Thomas Foulk(es), Sarah (Foulk(es)) Bunting

Thomas appeared to have been in the colonies in 1677.  It is unclear if he brought his family at that time or later.  Possibly John and Sarah came later as they appeared to have married in England after that date  and are said to have had a child in England in 1680.  Then, they reportedly had a child in New Jersey in 1683.  More detailed research needs to be done to pinpoint exactly when they arrived.

Ruth came to America with her brother William Buckman of the Ellis family line.

IMMIGRANT: Robert Williams

Robert Williams married in Chester County, Pennsylvania in June 1691 after immigrating from Wales.

IMMIGRANT: William Huntley

William married in Chester County, Pennsylvania in 1692.

IMMIGRANT: Unknown

William Threlkeld was believed to have been born in Virginia circa 1696.

Peter’s son Joseph was born in Virginia approximately 1701.

Isaac’s son Andrew was born in 1704 in Burlington, NJ.  His father is said to have married in England, but was possibly actually born in America.

Griffith John came to America from Wales with his brother Samuel.

IMMIGRANT: Thomas Fisher

Thomas married at the Concord Monthly Meeting in Chester County, Pennsylvania in 1712.

The Portwood family can be confirmed in America before 1801, but the believed ancestors if proven would indicate that the family was in America prior to 1724.

IMMIGRANT: Benjamin Cave

In 1730, Benjamin took the oath to be lieutenant to Captain John Scott.

In 1733, John Crawford and his growing family headed from Ireland to America.  On the way, he had another son Archibald (5th great-grandfather).

Thomas Jackman arrived in Virginia by 1734.

John Wood was born about 1750 in New York.  It is also believed that his father was born in the Colonies.

IMMIGRANT: Robert Foresman

Jane and Robert married and started their family in Ireland.  They made the journey to America about 1756 based on when and where their children are believed to have been born.

George Ashby was born in 1770 in Delaware.

Josiah Thomas was born in 1775.  The family would have been in America prior to that date.

Conner

IMMIGRANT: Believed to be Lawrence Conner

It is verified that the family was in America in 1809 when Thomas G. Conner was born.  He is believed to be the grandson of Lawrence Conner, who immigrated from Ireland and fought in the Revolutionary War.

The family was in America before 1784 when William Donaldson was born in Virginia.

Marshall

IMMIGRANT: Unknown

Our Marshall line is confirmed to have been here by 1793 when Jane Marshall was born. However, she is believed to be linked to Marshalls that were in the country much earlier.

IMMIGRANT: Francis Pellett

Francis Pellett married at a monthly meeting in Adams County, Pennsylvania in May 1799.

Before 1808

Carson

IMMIGRANT: Possibly David Carson.

The family was in the country by the time Henry was born in 1808.  It is possible his father was David Carson of Ireland, who immigrated to America.  However, there are several Carson family lines and more research is required.

Martha (Rebecca) Fowler was born in 1809 in Kentucky.  It is unclear where her father Benjamin was born.
