Wilhelmina “Minnie” Schmidt Kutzner

Wilhelmina “Minnie” Schmidt, daughter of Wilheim and Caroline (Eichler) Schmidt, was born in Germany in 1864.

 

Immigration

Minnie immigrated to the United States sometime before 1885.  Per Reunion notes, she immigrated when she was 20, which would be in 1884 or possibly early 1885. Caroline, Minnie’s mother, also immigrated to the United States and is buried in Marshall County, Iowa.

Minnie had at least one sister, Otillia, that also immigrated to the United States and lived in the Marshall County, Iowa area.

 

Marriage

Minnie married Herman Kutzner after immigrating to the United States.   

Minnie and Herman became parents to ten children:

  • Herman A. (August Louis Herman) [m: Herma Prosser]
  • Emma Augusta Bertha [m: John Schlender]
  • Wilhelm Ernst Albert “Bobby”
  • Minnie Louisa Caroline [m: Philipp (Jacob) Helm]
  • Ernest Wilhelm Louis/Levi Sr. [m: Rosamund Alice “Rose” Busse]
  • four unknown children that did not live to adulthood
