Marriage

Henry married Elizabeth Brown Donaldson in 1838 in Monroe County, Missouri.  Henry and Elizabeth  moved around in Missouri, finally settling in Andrew County, Missouri. They were the parents to 13 children:

  • William Preston served in the Union Army during the Civil War.  He married Margaret Dalton and they had 10 children.  He worked in construction.
  • Elizabeth Frances married  Jarvis Kearby.
  • Josiah “Si” fathered 14 children with three wives: Martha Jane Boone, Mary Sophia Albertson, and Alcena Dalton.  Si also served in the Civil War.
  • James never married.  He worked the family farm.
  • George Andrew
  • Stephen Henry married Ms. Wilson.  They lived in Northwest Missouri.
  • Sarah Calvin married William Silvers.  Sarah lived to be 98.
  • Henry Jr. married Sarah Hall.  He was a farmer.
  • Mary Susan “Sue” married James Castle. Sue lived to be 95.
  • Nancy Jane married John Ruby.
  • Harrison Mitchell married Alice Bartlett.  They had 10 children.  Harrison was a farmer.
  • Two children died in infancy
