On 12 Sep 1740 when John was 20, he married Phoebe Scarlett in Londongrove Twp., Pennsylvania. Born on 4 JAN 1721/22. Phoebe died in 1815; she was 93.

They had the following children:

		ii.	Amy. Born on 18 FEB 1742/43.
		iii.	Ann. Born on 10 Jul 1746. Ann died on 8 Nov 1829; she was 83.
		iv.	John III. Born on 22 May 1749 in Chester Co., Pennsylvania. John III died on 23 Sep 1826; he was 77.
		v.	Samuel. Born on 21 Dec 1751. Samuel died on 14 Jun 1834; he was 82.
		vi.	Thomas. Born on 25 Aug 1754. Thomas died in Chester Co., Pennsylvania, on 6 Sep 1754; he was <1. Buried in London Grove Friends Buring Ground, Chester Co., Pennsylvania.

17. Phebe ALLEN. Born on 9 FEB 1738/39 in Londongrove Twp., Chester Co., Pennsylvania. Phebe died on 19 Oct 1787; she was 49.

On 12 Jul 1757 when Phebe was 19, she first married Samuel THOMPSON in Old Swedes Church, Delaware. Born in Virginia. Samuel died bef Aug 1769.

They had the following children:

		i.	Elizabeth. Elizabeth married William McMasters.

In 1782 when Phebe was 43, she second married James Vestal in Guilford Co., North Carolina. Born abt 1730 in Chester Co., Pennsylvania.

They had the following children:

		i.	Rebecca. Born in 1782.
		ii.	Isaac. Born in 1786.
