Thompson Smith, son of James Thompson and Rachel Anne (Parke) Smith, is said to be the grandfather of Rachel Smith, the most recent of the Smith family in our line. Thompson was born in New Jersey and died in North Carolina. He is believed to have been the father of nine children with his wife Rachel Briles.
