Blanche Mabel
1887 – 1964
Blanche Mabel Klinefelter was the daughter of Judge Sharpless and Emma (Ackermann) Klinefelter. Blanche was only a little over a year old when her mother, Emma (Ackermann) Klinefelter died during childbirth. At this point, Blanche went to live with her grandparents Joseph G. and Caroline (Stetler) Klinefelter.
Although her father, Judge S. Klinefelter, later remarried and he had additional daughters, Blanche remained in the care of his parents.
Marriage
Blanche met Herbert James Thomson when they both traveled to Colorado. They later married in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where she was born and raised.
Judge Comes to Nebraska
Although her father had not raised her, it was Blanche that he turned to in his elder years. He spent his last years in Palmyra with Blanche and Herbert. Blanche died a month before her father did. She was 76 and he was 100.
