Jesse Klinefelter was a son of Jacob Klinefelter and Susan Miller.
Marriage
In 1840 he married Ann Rue Brooks, daughter of Joshua Brooks and Elizabeth Mason Stackhouse.
They had five children:

- Suzetta
- Judge Sharpless [m. Emma Glenn]
- George Jesse [m. Orpthalma Soles]
Death
Jesse died at age 34 of cholera as the ship Hibernia was docking at Pittsburgh. Ann was left with three sons under the age of 10 to raise as both her daughters had died.
