Marrying Out of Unity
When she married William Adams in 1754, she was questioned about marrying out of unity. William and Susannah soon moved. It is unclear if this was related to their marriage or not. However, they eventually ended up in North Carolina where Susannah was received into the Society of Friends with a certificate from her earlier membership. In 1762, William was also accepted into the Society of Friends.
