Martha Galey
1825 – 1853
Martha Galey McCammon was born in 1825. The 1850 census says that she was born in Indiana, but I have seen unsourced comments saying that she may have been born in Wales. Nothing is known of her parents or siblings.
Marriage
In 1843, she married Woodson Portwood, likely in Indiana. They had six known children. Martha died in Macon County, Illinois only a few months after her last child was born. Within the next year, two of her children died.
