Mary Fisher, daughter of Thomas and Elizabeth (Huntley) Fisher was born in 1727 in Chester County, Pennsylvania.

Marriage

In 1755, Mary married Abel John at the Uwchian Monthly Meeting in Chester County, Pennsylvania.  Samuel, Ann, Thomas, and Elizabeth Fisher were in attendance.

 

Inheritance

 

When Abel died, he provided for Mary.  He gave her a horse, cow, saddle, bridle, household furniture, books, and £100.  He put another £100 aside for Mary to gain interest throughout the remainder of her life.  In exchange for receiving this money after Mary died, Abel’s son Joseph was to provide a home, firewood, flax, 20 bushels of wheat, 8 bushels of corn, 6 bushels of potatoes, 3 bushels of turnips, 100 pounds of pork, 20 pounds of beef, 8 pounds of tallow, 4 pounds of lard, 4 pounds of wool, 1/3 of the fruit, 1/3 of the fowl, and eggs yearly.  In addition, he was to keep and care for her horse and cow.
