Patience Tilton, daughter of Abraham Tilton and Elizabeth Thorn(e), was born in August 1715 in Burlington County, New Jersey.

Marriage

Patience married John Bunting Jr. in 1768 in Nottingham, Burliington, New Jersey. It appears that Patience belonged to the Society of Friends prior to her marriage, but that John did not.  His ancestors and many relatives belonged, but it seems that  his particular branch of the family had not followed the teachings of the Friends. Three years later, Patience issued an apology to the Chesterfield Monthly Meeting for marrying via license and asking to be reinstated .  She appeared to have been accepted back as the couple and their children later appear in Quaker records.

Moving Around

The family appeared to move between various meeting houses during the latter part of the 1780s till 1790/2 when they left New Jersey moving to Maryland to the Pipe Creek Monthly Meeting.

Patience is believed to have died in 1817 in Burlington County, New Jersey.  This needs to be verified.
