Clifford Pellett

Clifford  Claney “Cliff” Pellett, Son of Henry and Della (Conner) Pellett, was born near Garland, Kansas in 1895.  Cliff served in WWI in France. He was welcomed home at his father’s house by 75 people.

 

Marriage

In 1923, he married Dessie Thomas, daughter of James William and Sadie (Ashby) Thomas of the local area.  They  had five children: 

  • Lyle Clifford was still born.
  • Marvin Glen married Edna Lobmeyer.  They lived in Garden City, Kansas before moving to Atascadero, California.  Marvin worked for the State of California.
  • Inez Linda never married.
  • Elma Lorene
  • Ruby Arlene never married.

 

Injury & Hospitalization

In the late 1930s, Cliff had a bad fall when picking grapes.  This left him with medical and emotional issues that resulted in him being hospitalized at a VA hospital for the remainder of his life.
