 In this situation, the verification comes from having a primary source that shows that Abraham and Elizabeth had a daughter Patience.  Secondary sources record the daughter Patience as the same one that married John Bunting, Jr.  In addition, there is significant circumstantial evidence.

Abraham Tilton was born in Monmouth County, New Jersey. His parents are Samuel Tilton and Patience Allen.

 

Marriage

In 1748, Abraham married Elizabeth Thorn(e) in Burlington County, New Jersey. Abraham and Elizabeth’s children were:

  • Patience
  • Hannah
  • Lucy
  • Sarah
  • Abraham

His Estate

At the time of his death in 1761, all of Abraham’s children were minors.  Yet, he provided for each to receive land when they became of age.  In one case, he provided a particular land to two of his daughters and stated that his son Abraham could have the land instead, but he would be required to pay the daughter 400 pounds for the land.
